Today I’m going to write about podcasts to practice Spanish. We can listen to the podcast directly in each page or to follow the ones we like using receivers like Netvibes, iTunes or Juice.
There are several websites where we can find podcasts to practice Spanish, but in my opinion, one of the best is IVOOX. In this website, we can find any kind of podcasts that we can filter according to different search criteria. We can even find TV programs in audio version, as for example, Science programs, like REDES or good quality documentaries like La noche temática. Other podcasts to practice Spanish are worth to listen to are DocuSingles and Documentales Sonoros. Also, there are hundreds or audiobook, news, lectures, movies for vision impaired people, language audios, stand-up comedy, etc.
Apart from IVOOX, the official site of RTVE (Radio Televisión Española) is one of the best website to find both audios and videos to practice Spanish. We can choose if we want to watch videos broadcasted in recent weeks, (like the news or some documentaries from TV show like La noche temática, Redes, Documentos TV, etc.). We can also access all the radio programs, which we can filter by TV channel, by genre or by date.
For those who don’t know RTVE website, its website offers 4 different official radio stations:
In my opinion, the best option is Radio 3, but, if we don’t want to listen to music, the best thing to do would be to search for programs we are interested in, regardless the radio station. To do that, we can define our search criteria and bookmark the topics we are most interested about. Here’s some more podcasts to practice Spanish:
Hoy empieza todo: this program reviews the artistic and cultural scene of the moment, and usually also includes a wonderful repertoire of songs from different genres.
No es un día cualquiera , it is imposible to define just one topic or theme this program is about. It is presented by Pepa Fernández on Saturdays and Sundays mornings. It lasts five hours, but you can find it divided into blocks of one hour each, just in case you only want to hear one part. In this program you will find riddles to be solved by the listeners, lectures, recipes, interviews, etc… In short, it offers a wide range of topics and is easy to listen to
A hombros de gigantes, it offers interviews and popular science programs that I highly recommend to everyone. It is unlikely to listen to this radio program and not to find anything interesting to pay attention to.
El palabrero, it is a brief but interesting program about the origins of some Spanish words and expressions. It is entertaining and easy to listen to.
3.0: this program is about the media, social networks and new technologies, with particular emphasis on what is called Web 2.0 and 3.0, among many other things. Other shows that I would recommend and that I listen to very often are: Siglo XXI, El séptimo vicio, La lanzadera, El ojo crítico, Decreciendo o Futuro abierto.
