What comes to your mind every time you hear the word ‘Spain’? Is it sangria, flamenco, paella? Maybe football or soccer? Do you think about parties, Ibiza, good weather? All those things are obviously part of Spain and Spanish culture, but there is also Spain’s other side, unknown for many foreign people.
In the North of Spain it rains a lot and the landscapes are very green. Many people would think that it resembles more Scotland or Ireland than their idea of Spain. A good example would be the Picos de Europa (‘Peaks of Europe’) located in the province of Asturias, in the North of the country.
